It is Difficult to know from when to start writing the present situation of the Hospital, however it may be convenient to begin from the time when the property of the hospital s handed over to the Mizoram Presbyterian Church by the Welsh Mission in 1958 even though, it may be sometimes referred to as the past.

From this humble beginning, the Hospital progressed slowly, but steadily to become the premier centre of healing, catering to one and all, a place of last refuge, the final destination when all else had failed, where, even if the final outcome may not always be the desired one, the sufferers go willingly, with a peaceful heart, knowing that all that can be done or attempted had been done.

The Hospital has received immense generosities from not only in and around Mizoram but also from across the globe. It is due to these benefactors that the Hospital was able to celebrate its Platinum Jubilee of existence in 2003.

The Council For World Mission and The Presbyterian Church Of Wales are worth mentioning through which the Hospital has received aid both financially and in infrastructure.

With the construction of the new complexes of wards the hospital enters a new era, when the hospital bed strength also increased to many fold, up to a total of about 300.The hospital is now equipped with well furnished Major Operation Theatre, Gynae O.T, and Eye O.T. Medical, Surgical, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Eye, ENT and Obs & Gynae wards and two complexes of Private wards with Deluxe rooms in the New Cabin Complex. Different rooms for hospital staff and also with an ICU which is yet to function due to lack of infrastructure till date.

The hospital also improved in infrastructure with almost all modern equipments like X-ray machine, USG machine, ECG machine, fetal monitor and Endoscopy equipments. Even though it is difficult to acquire all modern  instruments, we do have almost all necessary requirements. We do believe that in near future we will be able to acquire better instruments and be of better services to the people of Mizoram and around.

It is also worth to mention that, from a humble beginning of only one or two MBBS doctors working in the hospital we now have specialists in almost all important branches like Medical, Surgical, Gynae, Pediatrics, ENT, Eye and Orthopedics.

With the help of God and the blessings of our well wishers we are sure to progress further in future and be of greater help to the people.
